Ideally situated on Paignton Sea Front, offering clean and well planned rooms. We have a fully licensed, well stocked bar and Sea View Guest Lounge, The Commodore's Mess, with spectacular views across Paignton Green to Torquay, Thatchers Rock, Berry Head and Brixham.

We purchase The Commodore in July 2007 and have an ongoing commitment to renovate the building and upgrade the accommodation. In order to give our guests a great value for money stay, so that you will want to return again and again.

We have renovated the rear of the building completely and it now houses two 2 bedroom holiday apartments which are available for let all year around. They are probably some of the largest and well equipped purpose built holiday apartments in Paignton.

The main Bed and Breakfast Guest House now has 8 en-suite rooms, situated on the 1st and 2nd floors, 4 of which have excellent uninterrupted sea views. We have renamed the rooms after Agatha Christie, Francis Drake, Napoleon Bonaparte, Isaac Singer, William of Orange, Gilbert and Sullivan, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Horatio Nelson, all people who either lived in Torbay or added to it's prosperity in some way. We are in the process of gathering information and memorabilia on these various characters to place in the rooms.

The kitchen, dining room, reception and bar are situated on the ground floor. The dining room is called The Commodore's Mess and has excellent views of Torbay where you can relax during the day and enjoy a beverage in the evenings. The Reception and Quarterdeck Bar have been designed to look like the Quarterdeck of a sailing ship.

Prior to purchasing The Commodore, Stuart, Sue and Wally owned The Downs Hotel in Babbacombe, sadly Wally passed away in August 2006. We have been in the hotel business since June 2004, so have 8 years and 9 summer seasons experience behind us.
